PR Rolls has grown in the international market

PR Rolls Oy’s business is booming in the international market. In the financial period that closed at the end of June, the company’s turnover exceeded EUR 4 million for the first time in its history, while its profitability remained at a steady level. In the previous financial year, PR Rolls’ turnover reached EUR 3.2 million, meaning that this year’s increase was an impressive 27%. “Such strong growth was a pleasant surprise, considering that we lost the Russian market. A couple of years ago, we started to invest heavily in marketing in Turkey, and that work is now bearing fruit. PR Rolls has an excellent reputation there, and cooperation with local customers is going swimmingly. Our future in Turkey looks bright going forward,” says Jani Westerlund, CEO of PR Rolls. “For example, we carried out the on-site grinding and balancing of rolls and cylinders on two production lines at a board mill in Turkey belonging to KMK-yhtiöt Oy. In this case, too, our customer appreciated the fact that we kept to the agreed schedule and that our staff were able to solve any problems that arose on site,” Westerlund continues. In addition to Turkey, the company also saw growth in South Korea. In both these countries, the positive development was driven by investments in sales and marketing. In Europe, PR Rolls has traditionally had a strong footing in the German-speaking region in particular, and this trend continued in the previous financial year. “Our competitiveness comes first and foremost from our excellent products and services, as well as our efficient organisation,” says Westerlund, adding that the company continues to recruit new talent. According to him, PR Rolls will also continue to seek profitable growth in the coming years. Industries such as paper, board and pulp have long been successful for the company, and now on-site services for the food industry, including in the US, are emerging as a big opportunity. “In South America, we are targeting maintenance services for pulp mills.
